About REMAX Aspire

The Caton Realty Company was formed in 1939. Victor J. Lancelotta was one of the three original stakeholders and became sole owner in 1969. The first office was in downtown Baltimore, named “Caton Realty” to serve Catonsville. In the early 1960s the office moved to Irvington, then in 1966 relocated west to Howard County at 8585 Baltimore National Pike.
As housing boomed in the 1970s, Caton’s sales force grew beyond its Howard County office. A Catonsville branch was opened, first on Edmondson Avenue and later at Ingleside Avenue in a remodeled gas station. In 1975, Victor appointed William J. “Bill” Iampieri as Sales Manager. Bill had joined as a part-time agent in 1964, became full-time in 1971, and rose to Vice President and General Manager in 1979. The company expanded further with a third office in Mt. Airy.
In 1980 Caton moved its Howard County office to 9339 Baltimore National Pike in the new Victoria Plaza built by Mr. Lancelotta. Caton joined ERA in 1984, becoming ERA Caton Realty, and grew to 100+ agents, fueled by relocation services and a Guaranteed Sales Plan. In 1990 Mr. Lancelotta sold the firm to Bill Iampieri, the second owner.
Caton left ERA in 2000, remaining independent until 2007 when it affiliated with Weichert. In 2012 Bill and Karen Iampieri purchased and renovated a new office at 10169 Baltimore National Pike, the third location on that corridor since 1966.
In 2013, Bill’s son Dan became Sales Manager, overseeing sales, training, and growth. In 2017 Dan acquired the firm, rebranding it as RE/MAX Aspire, becoming only the third owner since 1939. Today, RE/MAX Aspire is the oldest real estate brokerage in Howard County, and among the oldest in Maryland.
